ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Union leaders are speaking out on the new DPW contract in Ithaca.

Justin Perkins, president of CSEA DPW, says the two-year deal struck last week includes retro percentage adjustments and COVID-19 based payments. The deal came after long discussions between union officials and the city of Ithaca. DPW workers had been working without a contract since December 2020.

Tom Condzella, who leads the Ithaca Police Benevolent Association, adds he hopes the deal means a better relationship between the city and its employees.
