WASHINGTON, DC (CortacaToday) — Members of New York’s congressional delegation is responding to violent crime.

The group, including Congressman Marc Molinaro, introduced Tuesday the Illegal Offender Registry Act. The bill would create a database at the Department of Homeland Security of illegal immigrants convicted of a felony. Information in the proposed database includes names and where they currently live.

Molinaro says the bill is a response to recent violent crimes in Central New York allegedly committed by illegal immigrants.
