CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — A longtime fixture at Cortland schools is moving on.

Officer Rob Reyngoudt spent 28 years at the Cortland Police Department and 20 as a school resource officer. Reyngoudt received credit for keeping Crown City schools safe while nurturing relationships with the city’s youth.

Mayor Scott Steve, in a tribute on Facebook, described Reyngoudt as a ‘valued city employee’ who played the role of Buddy the Elf at Christmas.

Reyngoudt is taking on a new role outside Cortland.
