CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — This summer, beat the heat by exploring local ice cream shops in Cortland County.
According to Experience Cortland, the Cortland County Ice Cream Trail consists of eleven different stops at various ice cream shops in the county. Classic flavors as well as ones you have never heard of are to be expected when completing this ice cream journey.
To start the trail, get a map from the Cortland County Visitors Center, or you can have a map mailed to you, courtesy of Experience Cortland. You can also find maps at the participating ice cream shops, which are listed below:
- Capt’n Jack’s Ice Cream Shack at Shipwreck Amusements
- D’s Dairy Treat
- Footie’s Freez
- Frosted
- Little Treat Shoppe
- Mountainside Cones
- Poole’s Drive-In
- So Good Ice Cream
- Super Cream Dairy Bar
- The Frosty Caboose
- Truxton Outpost
While completing the trail, ask for a punch to be put in your map at each location. After you have collected punches from all eleven stops, bring or mail the map to the Cortland County Visitors Center. Upon doing so, a Cortland County Ice Cream Trail enamel pin will be awarded to you, and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance at a $100 gift card to your favorite ice cream shop in Cortland County. The winner is announced by Experience Cortland on the last day of summer.
If you need a way to stay cool this summer, make sure you consider getting the inside scoop on all things ice cream by completing the Cortland County Ice Cream Trail!
