ITHACA, NY (WHCU) – Part of a street in Ithaca is shut down for the next two weeks.
A paving project gets underway today in the 100-200 blocks of Franklin Street, which will be closed between Auburn Street and Willow Avenue. Only emergency responders will be permitted in the work zone, and there will be no on-street parking for the duration of construction.
Residents in the affected area of Franklin Street will not be able to get in and out of their driveways due to the excavation depth required for paving. City officials recommend parking elsewhere.
No detours are in place. The project is scheduled to wrap up at the end of the day on June 26, depending on the weather.
