CAYUGA HEIGHTS, NY (WHCU) — Coyotes have been sighted in Cayuga Heights.

Police in the village say there’s been several sightings reported and advise that if you see one roaming, don’t approach or interact with the animal.

The Cayuga Heights Police Department would like to advise that a number of coyote sightings have been reported in the village.  Coyotes roam over a wide rangeing territory and could roam the entire village.  If you should see a coyote in the area, DO NOT APPROACH or interact with the animal.  If it is causing an immediate hazard contact the police department, otherwise you may let it wander on or contact an animal control company.

Residents are being encouraged to either let the coyotes wander around or call an animal control group.
