BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) – A Binghamton man is facing child porn charges.

On Oct. 15, State Police executed a search warrant at the home of 32-year-old Shawn Degler.

The investigation began after authorities received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Troopers say they found pictures consistent with child sexual exploitation.

Degler was arrested and charged with two felonies, one for promoting a sexual performance by a child under 17, and one for possessing a sexual performance by a child under 16.
