BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) – Three Southern Tier residents are facing federal drug charges.
On Oct. 2, the FBI arrested Jermaine Cooper, of Apalachin, Sherry Olk, of Binghamton, and Shamell Tate, of Endicott, on charges of distributing methamphetamine.
Cooper, 53, and the 40-year-old Olk are accused of selling over 100 grams of meth in July 2026. A separate complaint alleges that Tate sold over 200 grams of meth in September 2026.
Federal officials, who worked with state and local law enforcement on the arrests, say it was the first bust on the first day of a statewide drug enforcement effort called Operation Cold Front.
The operation resulted in a seizure of over 25 lbs. of meth, nearly 7 lbs. of fentanyl, almost 1.5 lbs. of cocaine, and over 1.5 lbs. of crack cocaine.
All three defendants are detained pending a trial in U.S. District Court, where they face up to 40 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and supervision upon their release.
