DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) — Tompkins Cortland Community College is offering more chances to learn for free.

Gov. Hochul recently expanded the SUNY Reconnect program, which was originally created for adults 25-55 looking to earn degrees in certain high demand fields. The program now includes New Yorkers who’ve previously gotten degrees in different fields of study.

When the program launched, TC3 over 200 adult learners enrolled in programs. This year, more than 400 adults have signed up. There are currently 13 degree programs are currently available at the Dryden school for free associate degrees:

Computer Information Systems
Computer Science
Computer Support Specialist
Construction and Environmental Technology
Engineering Science
Environmental Studies
Health Sciences
Nursing
Sustainable Farming and Food Systems
Teacher Education – Adolescence
Teacher Education – Childhood
Teacher Education – Early Childhood

According to TC3, they’re developing additional programs. Hochul says the expanded program will begin in Jan. 2027.
