ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Ithaca looks to fill vacancies.
Residents are invited to apply to serve on the City’s official Boards and Commissions.
If chosen, the successful applicant will help advise city officials, review policies and projects, and support the city’s work on a “wide range of community priorities.”
Current opportunities may include appointments in areas of Zoning, Planning & Development, Sustainability & Climate Justice, Landmark Preservation, and Community Police Relations. The city encourages residents with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and areas of expertise to apply, as well as those who have not previously served.
“Community participation is an essential part of effective local government,” said Mayor Robert Cantelmo. “Serving on a Board or Commission is a great way for city residents to share their ideas, bring their lived experiences to the table, and help shape the future of our city.”
