LOCKE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man awaits his day in court.
On October 2, deputies responded to a home in the Town of Locke for a reported domestic violence incident.
When police arrived, they arranged for one of the people involved to speak with a victims’ advocate. While this was happening, 49-year-old Thomas Purdy allegedly pointed a knife towards a deputy and an assisting State Trooper in a threatening manner.
Purdy complied with law enforcement demands and was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with menacing a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
Purdy was held in Cayuga County Jail on $2,500 cash bail.
