ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Support grows for a former Cornell student suing the school.

A petition from Cornell alums has been circulating this week. It’s picked up thousands of signatures. In a message, organizers say it reflects a desire from alumni to hold the university accountable.

“We pledge to withhold support and charitable contributions unless the following actions are taken,” organizers said. The actions they’re looking for from Cornell’s leadership are accountability for administrators, transparency into investigations, and remedy & prevention.

The student, known only as Jane Doe, says she was drugged and raped by 7 male students at a frat house party in 2024.
