ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Free Movie Day is coming back to Cinemapolis.

On October 3, Ithaca’s nonprofit, independent movie theatre is offering free admission to all showings to mark its 40th anniversary of operation.

“The previous Free Movie Day was a wonderful event, and we welcomed over 900 people,” said Cinemapolis Board Co-Chair Enid Littman. “It was a great way to celebrate the experience of going to the movies, and I’m so glad it can be part of how we mark our 40th anniversary.”

The event’s screenings will also include the 1916 silent film, “Snow White,” with live musical accompaniment from harpist-composer Leslie McMichael, and violinist Barbara McMichael. Raffles will also be offered as part of the celebratory event, which is being sponsored by True Insurance and The Cat’s Pajamas.

“Our theater has survived and thrived for 40 years because of the remarkable support we have received from this community,” said Cinemapolis Executive Director Kate Donahue. “Free Movie Day is a way to say thank you. I’m grateful to our sponsors for making this possible.”

You can grab tickets online or at the Cinemapolis box office.
