CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — State funding will benefit homelessness in Cortland County.

Catholic Charities recently received a $5 million grant. The money will help provide transitional housing.

Legislative Chair Kevin Fitch says dozens of people will benefit.

“Such a program can serve up to 28 to 30 unique individuals per year, many of whom have struggled with chronic homelessness,” he says.

Clinicians and peer specialists will provide guidance as part of the program.
