ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cornell students who participated in a protest on campus Thursday are facing suspension.
In a letter to campus, Vice President for University Relations Joel Malina says a group of 30 students set up tents early yesterday on the Arts Quad, a violation of campus policy.
Climate Justice Cornell signed up for the space and Malina says they were dishonest in their request. According to the Ithaca Voice, the students protesting the war in Gaza swelled to around 300 by the afternoon.
In addition to the student suspensions, Malina says faculty and staff who participated also face discipline.
