CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — SUNY Cortland has been named no. 9 in Top Public Schools, up four places from last year, according to U.S. News & World Report rankings.

The university also climbed eight spots from last year in Regional Universities North, reaching the no. 25 spot.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on criteria such as student reviews, graduation outcomes, faculty resources, financial aid, and data from the National Science Foundation and Department of Education.
