ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Later this year, the United Way of Tompkins County will have a new leader.

Aly Evans has been named the organization’s next president and CEO. For the last five years, Evans has led Foodnet Meals on Wheels as executive director.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to welcome Aly Evans as our next leader,” UWTC Board Chair Michael Perehinec said. “We are energized by the opportunities ahead and are confident that Aly’s experience, vision, and collaborative spirit will help United Way of Tompkins County deepen its impact across our community.”

“I am appreciative of the UWTC Executive Search Committee and Board of Directors for their belief in my skills,” Evans said. “The idea that I can bring my experience with the Tompkins County human services sector to an agency that is essential to the health and vibrancy of our community is quite an honor. I have seen firsthand the needs of our community, especially the most vulnerable, and am excited to spark energy in UWTC programming that supports our community through fundraising and authentic collaboration.”

Michael Ramos retired as president and CEO of Tompkins County’s United Way chapter in January. Evans will start her new role on Nov. 2.
