CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – There were no injuries in a Crown City crash.

On August 27, Cortland Police were called to an accident involving a tractor-trailer on Pendleton Street.

Officers say the big rig was pulling out of a parking lot around 9:45 a.m. when the tanker it was hauling became dislodged and fell into the roadway, closing Pendleton Street and the nearby railroad tracks.

There was no threat to public health, as the tanker was loaded with plastic materials.

Officials notified Susquehanna and Western Railway, which diverted all trains from the affected rail line until the tanker could be removed from the street. Additionally, company personnel responded to the scene to inspect the tracks. No damage was found, and the tracks and street reopened after the tanker was safely moved.
