ELMIRA, NY (607NewsNow) – A newly formed food insecurity network in the Southern Tier has an official logo.
On August 27, the Tioga County Food Alliance unveiled the design, which was submitted by 2026 Horseheads High School grad Kasidy McCracken.
The Alliance, which brings together 30 schools, farms, food pantries, health care providers, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations to improve access to a locally supported, nutritious, and connected food system, held a logo contest called “Draw the Future of Food.”
“The organizations serving Tioga County bring tremendous knowledge, resources and commitment to this work,” said Mark Bordeau, President and CEO of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. “By supporting the Tioga County Food Alliance, the Food Bank is helping partners work together more intentionally – strengthening systems that connect people with nutritious food today while building a more resilient food system for the future.”
As the winner, McCracken, who created the winning design as an art class assignment, received a $500 gift card, and her artwork will appear on all Alliance materials, social media, and at community events.
