ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — An Ithaca group is working on changing employment law. 

The Special Committee on Wrongful Discharge and Labor Protections met recently. It’s chaired by Alderperson Jorge DeFendini, who gave 607 News Now an update Thursday, Aug. 7 on WHCU’s 607 This Morning.

DeFendini says the city’s lawyers gave them the green light. If approved after the committee concludes their work, Ithaca would move from a city with at-will employment to just cause.
