BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — A promising player is joining the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
Infielder Jefferson Rojas has been assigned to Binghamton. The 21-year-old prospect has hit 15 home runs this season for the Knoxville Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs traded Rojas to the New York Mets on Monday. In exchange, Chicago received outfielder Tyrone Taylor and right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes.
Rojas is currently ranked as the top prospect in the Mets’ organization by Major League Baseball.
