ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca authorities are considering creating a new position.

It would involve emergency management. Ithaca Fire Chief Rob Covert believes preparation is key.

“I think being proactive with emergency management puts us a lot farther ahead than just being reactive,” he says.

The position would be shared between the city and the town.
