ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A Tompkins County legislator is proposing a temporary solution to addressing homelessness. 

Legislator Greg Mezey says it’s a yearlong extension of warming centers set up to provide shelter to homeless people on cold nights. 

Mezey tells WHCU it’s a temporary solution to the county’s homelessness situation. 

Mezey, who chairs the Housing and Economic Development Committee, is calling his plan Code Blue 365.
