HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) — The Homer Fire Department has new first responders.

On May 12, Tim Malchak and Geoff Taras joined the department as volunteer firefighters. Their applications were unanimously approved by the Village of Homer Board of Trustees.

In April, Homer Mayor Pat Clune said he’s grateful to have “excellent” firefighters in the village.
