ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cornell leaders are denying claims that updates to the interim expressive activity policy are restricting freedom of expression.

In a campuswide letter Monday, Cornell President Martha Pollack noted the policy brings together pre-existing rules. Clarifications and changes to the policy include emphasizing prior registration and allowing for posters and flyers to be posted without permission.

Pollack says the updated policy preserves Cornell’s long tradition of free and open expression.
