HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – The Homer Fire Department has a new leader.
On April 24, the department held its annual installation dinner, where Nate Stockwin was named chief.
Cortland Fire Department Chief Wayne Friedman served as the Master of Ceremonies. Other officers were also officially installed, and multiple awards for 2025 were given, including the inaugural Mahlon Irish Jr. Officer of the Year Award, named in honor of the past chief, who passed away in December.
Stockwin takes over for Jay Riley, who has served as chief since 2023.
