ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County still plans to move forward with opening a detox center, despite the Alcohol and Drug Council of Tompkins County’s surprise decision to close. 

Whole Health Commissioner Frank Kruppa tells WHCU they’re focused now on getting clients the help they still need. 

Kruppa also tells us why it’s been a long-delayed project.

The 40-bed facility on North Triphammer Road was announced last year by the ADC, which spent several years planning the new building. It was slated to open before the end of 2023.
