ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Hunters should check their equipment for safety.
FeraDyne Outdoors has recalled several models of its Rhino Tree Stands because they do not comply with industry safety standards. Testing shows the stitching on the safety harnesses can rip, posing a fall hazard to the hunter. The harness was included in several different tree stand packages listed below that were distributed from February 2021 through December 2022.
Authorities say more than 50,000 of the units were sold nationwide at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores and Amazon, among other retailers. People should immediately stop using the product and contact the manufacturer to receive a replacement. The recalled safety harnesses have black cloth strips with a white cloth tether stitched together with an orange thread (pictured). The safety harness model number is printed on a label included with each harness that says “RTH-2000S” or “RTH-2001S.”
The harness was included in the following products:

 - RTL-100
