DRYDEN, N.Y. (WHCU) — Thousands of drivers are waiting patiently for the Freese Road bridge to be replaced. 

Dryden Town Supervisor Jason Leifer says the delay is the result of the bridge’s historic designation. 

The bridge connecting Dryden and Varna closed nearly two years ago. The replacement project is slated to begin in 2025.
