VIRGIL, NY (607NewsNow) — A brush fire in Virgil is out.

Firefighters say a burning brush pile quickly spread Sunday afternoon, though it was contained to about a quarter acre of property on Tower Rd.

According to the Virgil Fire Department, the owner “tried to extinguish the spreading fire with buckets of water but was unsuccessful.”
