SOLON, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland man awaits his day in court.

On January 28, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Solon around 8:30 p.m. for a harassment complaint.

Eric Smith is accused of sending threatening messages to a victim known to him. The 42-year-old was arrested just before 3 a.m. on January 29 and charged with felony aggravated family offense and misdemeanor aggravated harassment.

Smith was held on $500 cash bail and is scheduled to return to Solon Town Court on February 18.
