OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – An Owego-based human services group is getting state support.
Tioga Opportunities, Inc. has received $200,000 in funding through the NYS Office of Community Renewal’s RESTORE program.
The money will be used to assist older adult homeowners in making emergency repairs and addressing code violations. Eligible participants must be 60 or older, own and occupy the residential unit receiving assistance as their primary residence, and not have a household income exceeding 100% of the area median income.
Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services is also getting $178,000 through the program, which officials say helps older adults to live independently in their homes.
