Molinaro defends vote to retain McCarthy

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHCU) — House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has lost his leadership role.

Congressman Marc Molinaro has defended the ousted speaker, saying the California Republican’s deal to prevent a government shutdown allowed work to continue addressing issues like inflation.

Molinaro voted Tuesday to retain McCarthy, who was elected house speaker in January.

Upstate New Yorkers are sick and tired of the political games. I voted to retain @SpeakerMcCarthy because he allows us to keep governing, address inflation, secure the border, and fight for the issues facing families, farmers, and small businesses.
