ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The head of the Tompkins County Legislature wants to see more coordination on homelessness.

Legislative Chairwoman Shawna Black is calling on Ithaca leaders to get organized.

“The Common Council has been all over the place,” she says.

Black adds it’s a pressing issue because Common Council could see a lot of turnover in the upcoming election.

Ithaca Alderperson George McGonigal says officials are “anxious to move forward” on homelessness.
