CAYUGA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WHCU) — A Tompkins County village is considering drafting a law about lawns.

Leaders in Cayuga Heights are keeping a close watch on grass length. Over a dozen properties have received letters of violation this summer. Mayor Linda Woodard says the number of residents who have let their lawns go has increased dramatically. Trustee Peter Salton has a different stance; he finds it petty to concentrate on property maintenance.

Those conversations are continuing.
