CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A Cortland Common Council vote in May on salary increases is troubling to an alderperson hopeful.

Former mayor Brian Tobin raised his concern Wed., Oct. 1 on Ithaca’s Morning News.

Tobin says pay went up $20,000-$40,000. Another concern he expressed is about the Parker Elementary School on Madison St., which has temporarily re-opened to serve as a learning space for students at the Barry Primary School.

Tobin, who had a prior stint on the Common Council before serving as Cortland’s mayor from 2012-22, is running in a special election to fill a vacancy in the city’s 1st Ward.
