AUBURN, N.Y. (WHCU) — A convicted sex offender in Cayuga County is under arrest.

Authorities say Brien Fredendall shared inappropriate pictures online with a person underage using an account that was unregistered with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice.

The 44-year-old is charged with sex offender failure to register and attempted disseminating indecent material, which are both felonies. He was arrested on Wednesday.

Fredendall is in the Cayuga County Jail until future court appearances.
