CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Cortland man is facing a pair of felonies.

Authorities say Alexander Donenko got into a dispute with a relative on Monday, July 31. The 26-year-old allegedly smashed some of the family member’s property, stole their car, and threatened to kill them if they didn’t give him money.

After receiving the money from an ATM, Donenko left the area in the stolen vehicle. He was located later that day in the stolen vehicle at a gas station on Port Watson Street and arrested without incident. Donenko was taken to Cortland County Jail on $1,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court on Thursday.
