ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – There’s still a chance that a disputed intersection in the Town of Ithaca could change.

Tompkins County and Town of Ithaca officials plan to hire a consultant to look at the Cradit Farm Drive and Pleasant Grove Road intersection by Cornell University after a recent traffic study was unfavorable to residents of the nearby Forest Home neighborhood. Residents would like traffic diverted away from their neighborhood through North Campus, citing pedestrian safety concerns.

Forest Home is a small area with no sidewalks, narrow roadways, and two one-lane bridges. Legislative Chair Shawna Black addressed concerned residents in attendance at this week’s meeting of the Tompkins County Legislature.

Black adds talks will continue at the next Facilities and Infrastructure Committee meeting.
