ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Tompkins County Whole Health Department (TCWH) seeks information about a dog bite in Ithaca.
Officials say the incident occurred at Troy Park around 4:30 p.m. on July 28. Troy Park is located between Troy Road and Whitetail Drive in the Town of Ithaca.
The Environmental Health Division wants to confirm the rabies vaccination status of the pup to rule out post-rabies exposure treatment for the victim. The biting dog, possibly a Cavapoo named Peanut, is described as tan and approximately 20-30 pounds.
The dog was with a person who appeared to be a white man in his 60s, approximately 5’10”, with white hair and possibly a mustache. The man also had a medium-sized black poodle. He claimed the dogs belonged to his daughter and were up to date on shots; however, he did not provide any contact information.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the TCWH Environmental Health Division at (607) 274-6688.
