GROTON, NY (607NewsNow) — There’s something magical happening at Moore Family Farm this August.

Known for their beloved fall festivities and family-focused events, the Moore family is now welcoming guests to their brand-new Flower Festival, a vibrant celebration of blooms, fun, and community. Carrie Moore, co-owner and heart behind the Moore Family Farm experience, talks sunflowers, date nights, apple cannons, and what makes this festival unlike anything else in the region:

Q: Carrie, the Flower Festival is a brand-new event for the farm. What inspired it?
Carrie Moore: Honestly, it was a blend of creativity and demand. Over the years, visitors kept asking if we’d ever do something during the summer, and I’ve always dreamed of walking through rows of sunflowers and zinnias with people laughing, picking bouquets, and soaking in those golden-hour moments. We’ve been working behind the scenes for months to bring this idea to life, and now it’s finally blooming, literally!

Q: What can people expect from their visit between August 15th and 30th?
Carrie: So much more than flowers! We’ve planted acres of sunflowers and zinnias for guests to explore, pick, and photograph. But that’s just the start. We’ve got over 35 attractions open including apple cannons, paintball, barnyard games, and jumping pillows. It’s a full day of fun for families, couples, and friend groups. It’s the kind of place where you arrive for the flowers and stay for the memories.

Q: The Flower Festival kicks off with a “Cruise-In” on August 16th. Tell us about that!
Carrie: That’s our big grand opening party! From 11 AM to 2 PM, we’re inviting classic car lovers to bring their hot rods, trucks, or vintage rides out to the farm. For just $10 a vehicle, they’ll get access to all the attractions; flower fields, photo ops, and of course, it makes for some seriously fun Instagram shots with sunflowers and vintage chrome.

Q: We hear you’re also introducing some adult-only evenings. What’s the idea behind those?
Carrie: We wanted to create something really special for grown-ups, unique nights out that feel like an escape. On August 22nd, we’ve got Sunflowers at Sunset, a romantic evening with flower picking, live music, drinks, and a curated charcuterie box. You’ll even get to hop on a wagon ride to the sunflower fields. Then there’s Sippin’ in the Stalks in September with wine and beer tastings hidden throughout a corn maze, followed by an afterparty. And we had to top it off with Witches Night Out on September 26th, a hilarious, themed ladies’ night with lots of surprises.

Q: The “Sippin’ in the Stalks” event sounds like a standout. What can guests expect?
Carrie: It’s such a fun twist on a traditional tasting event. We’ve partnered with 9 local wineries and breweries to set up hidden tasting stations throughout our corn maze. You’ll sip your way through, then head to the afterparty with live music, lawn games, food, and campfires. It’s cozy, social, and just a little adventurous. Tickets go live to our newsletter subscribers one week from today, and they’ll go fast!

Q: What do you hope people take away from their visit this summer?
Carrie: I hope they leave with joy in their hearts and maybe a little dirt on their boots. Whether it’s kids running through the flower fields, couples soaking in the sunset, or a family blasting apples from a cannon, we’ve created a place where people can connect, unwind, and celebrate summer together. It’s not just about the flowers, it’s about the moments that grow from them.
