LAPEER, N.Y. (WHCU) – New details have emerged in a Cortland County motorcycle crash that happened last week.
State Police say the operator was an unidentified 32-year-old man from Cortland. He was located off the roadway on Route 11 near the Town of Lapeer. Tourniquets were applied to both of the man’s legs to stop arterial bleeding before the Marathon Fire Department and Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps took over medical treatment. The Cortland man was airlifted to Robert Packer and is in stable condition.
Police say the man was not wearing a helmet and does not possess a valid license. Additionally, the City of Cortland Police were investigating a report that the motorcycle involved in the crash was stolen.
