SUMMERHILL, NY (607NewsNow) – Authorities have identified the victim in a fatal Cayuga County crash.

According to State Police, 51-year-old John Stanford, of Groton, was behind the wheel around 5 p.m. Monday when his truck went off Route 90 in the Town of Summerhill and overturned.

Troopers say Stanford was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, 47-year-old Lawanda Eaton, of Cortland, had no apparent injuries but was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
