ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – An Ithaca man is facing a charge after an investigation into a fight.
Ithaca Police responded to a reported dispute on Cleveland Avenue in downtown Ithaca around 7:45 p.m. Saturday, July 8. Police found one suspect involved, 50-year-old Miguel Matos, and attempted to arrest him. Matos allegedly became combative during the arrest and tried to go after a service weapon belonging to one of the officers, who suffered minor injuries. Matos is charged with felony attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He was remanded to Tompkins County Jail with no bail.
