ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – An attempted traffic stop leads to drug charges in Ithaca.

On June 26, Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull a vehicle over in the City of Ithaca for vehicle and traffic violations.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle did not obey the order, pulled into the Seneca Street Parking Garage, and drove to the top level. The driver, later identified as Keenan Vick Sr., of Trumansburg, began to come back down before ultimately stopping.

A K9 officer was deployed and alerted to a positive hit on the vehicle.  After a search, deputies allegedly found over two pounds of methamphetamine, 19 grams of heroin, 1.2 ounces of crack cocaine, and 1.4 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.

Vick is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. He is additionally charged with misdemeanor fleeing a police officer, misdemeanor obstructing governmental administration, and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Vick was taken to Tompkins County Jail without bail.
