ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — New recruits looking to join the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office or Ithaca Police Department have to first go to the police academy.

Applications to take the civil service exam are being accepted until August 7. The test is scheduled for September 9. Osborne says he’s looking to fill a few road patrol positions.
