SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHCU) – An Ithaca man is sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

As part of his guilty plea in United State District Court, 54-year-old Leroy Reed admitted to downloading and possessing child pornography from February of 2020 to March of 2021. A subsequent search of his apartment revealed that he was in possession of 54 images and 94 video files. Reed is a registered sex offender previously convicted in a 2002 rape of a 15-year-old victim. Upon his release from prison, Reed will begin a 20-year term of supervision and continue to register as a sex offender. He will additionally pay restitution in the amount of $6,000.
