LOCKE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man is recovering after a close call.
On June 9, a 63-year-old man was reportedly closing windows at his home in Locke around 9:30 p.m. when lightning struck the house.
Heavy storms began in the area around 9 p.m., and much of the region was under a flood watch.
According to Locke Fire Chief Ray Dyer, the impact knocked the man back several feet.
He was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
