CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland firefighters contained a house fire to the kitchen. 

Within 10 minutes of arriving last evening on River Street, firefighters extinguished the fire, resulting in some damage. Investigators determined the cause was accidental that began with the stove. The living room had heavy smoke damage, and the home’s electrical and gas systems were also damaged. No one was injured. 

At the scene, the Cortland Fire Department was helped out by the Cortland Police Department, National Grid, and NYSEG.
