CAMPVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — In a single day, crews in Tioga County were sent out twice for river rescues.

According to the Campville Fire Department, crews were dispatched Sunday morning to the Susquehanna River near the Millennium Bridge to help two boaters stranded because of engine issues. The pair were found and helped back to land. Shortly after that, the Apalachin Fire Department was sent to the river to rescue people in a sinking boat.

Now that warmer weather is here, the Campville Fire Department has some reminders for boaters:

– Wear life jackets
– Inspect your boat and equipment
– Carry a means of communication & let someone know where you will be!
– Be prepared for emergencies
Every in need of rescue Sunday are now safe on land.
